Charleston Landing is patterned after the neighborhoods that flourished during the 1920's. Our goal is to build more than just rows of houses or a gated community surrounding a golf course. Charleston Landing will have a special character influenced by the past. At the same time, we will apply principles that wed community building with contemporary lifestyles.

Charleston Landing will integrate a variety of housing types having people-friendly benefits, front porches, garageless streetscapes and street networks that invite pedestrians. As a result, the residents will walk more and socialize informally in neighborhood green spaces and along streets.

As part of the plan, we are creating a streetscape that is as attractive as any individual house. This is reminiscent of many neighborhoods built during the early part of this century. The re-emergence of the front porch is a part of the Charleston philosophy of recreating a neighborhood. Also, locating homes closer to sidewalks allows residents sitting on their porches to converse with passersby. And - friendly, walkable, tree-lined streets encourage residents to utilize the "street -as-an-amenity" concept.
